Yvonne M. Feltman, LMSW
EMDRIA-trained EMDR Therapist located in Austin, Texas
Supervised by Kimberly Goodwin, LCSW-S
I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen and heard. We all have experiences and vulnerabilities that
should not diminish our self-worth.
Reflecting and learning about ourselves can help us gain a greater sense of clarity and direction in our lives by helping us to identify our values, strengths, meaning and purpose. It can also help us develop a greater sense of trust, self-awareness and self-acceptance, which can lead to greater confidence, resilience and a fulfilling life.
Change can be challenging. I am here to help you.
I approach and listen to my clients with understanding, patience, kindness, and empathy. Talking to a therapist doesn’t mean you are unusual or broken, it means you care for yourself and recognize the value that therapy can provide. Empowering my clients to navigate their lives with more awareness and tools allows them to grow into the healthiest version of themselves.
The only constant in life is change (the cliché is true!). Whether it is job stress, the loss of a family member or pet, a breakup or divorce, an accident or incident, or managing your mental health, together we can work to explore ways to adjust, adapt, and begin a new path forward.
I enjoy helping people manage periods of change and transition in their lives. I have worked with those that are navigating dating, romantic relationships, conscious uncoupling (breakups), career pivots, making and breaking habits, pet loss, and thoughts of self-harm. I sometimes mingle spirituality, creativity, music, and animal therapy elements into my work.
As a female, multiracial, identical twin, I enjoy working with diverse populations. I offer unconditional regard to all my clients regardless of race, age, gender, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or religion. I am an LGTBQIA+ ally. I work with individuals, couples, and groups. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, personality disorders, mood disorders, individuals who struggle with interpersonal relationships, attachment/avoidance, family dysfunction, grief/loss, addiction, and past trauma.
I combine my education, experience, and skills, with evidence-based practices to complement your unique strengths and needs as you work towards identified goals. I utilize several person-centered approaches in therapy. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Focused Care. Development of strategies that can help with dialectical thinking, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness are also offered. I am trained and seek ongoing consultation, supervision, and training in these and other therapy modalities.
I am currently available for teletherapy online, and in-office sessions. Established clients can even choose other locations if they prefer therapy in a non-traditional setting such as walk and talk outdoor sessions.
